Top TEN ways to stay organized for school

Whether you are starting high school or going back to college, these are some helpful tips that i use to stay organized and on top of things at school.

1.First of all,  get yourself a good day planner
Electronic, paper or even a small sized calendar would work depending on your preference. I love to have something physical to write in (Especially if I get to use cute pens!)

2. Actually go to class
May seem like a given but how do you know what the testable material is on?

3. Take notes
I like to try and summarize and key in on important information, rather than attempt to write down everything

4. Rewrite notes that evening
Keeps everything neat and helps you remember and retain what you learned that day.

5. Come to class prepared.
Calculator, ruler, pens, notebooks, paper, pencils and other equipment you may need.|

6. Read slides ahead of time
So you have some idea as to what is going on

7. Wake up and make a plan
create a routine for you to wake up to, also prepares and reminds you of what you need to do during the day.

8. Use colour
No one likes boring notes!

9. Think before you highlight
Usually if i go all willy-nilly with the highlighter, I wind up highlighting non-important topics, so be stingy!

10. Set time aside for fun!
Everyone needs a break

My preferred planner app Planner Plus!

I had to try hard to find a calendar/planner app that I actually could use and liked.

Some of the things that I looked for in a calendar app were..

- easy to navigate
- easy to use and figure out ( I need something simple that I can learn quickly!)
- Colorfully presented and easy on the eyes.
- good layout
- monthly, and daily view ( weekly view isn't a priority)

After doing my research I downloaded, tried and uninstalled I managed to come across Planner Plus
It is;
Super easy to use!
Colourful
Monthly & daily view
Notes tab
Checklist tab
Personalized colour coding for different tasts

I've tried Google calendar, business calender, acalender, jorte, sunrise, calender + planner. These are the top calendar apps for Android if you Google it.

So far I have nothing but positive things to say about it!

New inserts!

 New Inserts!

Here we are again! Well I decided to switch things out. I didn't really like the tedious task of hole punching six holes for one page by hand. Yes I know I'm L.A.Z.Y.

So here we are. My brand-new Flavia two-page per week refills. Aren't they beautiful! The different coloured tabs.. Snazzy month pages my god and they were only two dollars more than the plain-jane refills. I found these babies at Staples for about $24.

Here is the by the week view. I love them. They are so nice a colourfull. Each month has a different colour which is quite exciting..

The only thing I don't like about it is that the month-in-a-glance is only one page. This makes it a little tricky when you have more than one thing going on that day.

So I've been using washi tape to make a little tab on the day and then a legend on the notes section as seen here.

They even came with a to be done in 2016 page.. <3

I printed off a little password keeper that I found on Pinterest and shrunk it down to fit in my planner. Outlined with washi tape of course.

My little pouch with stamps and post-it tabs for later.

And if you are too lazy to read all this...

Introducing: The Planner.

 The Inspection

This little beauty is my very first day planner. I bought this Day One planner by Franklin Covey at Walmart for around $16. It took me a half hour to pick it out. It was chosen for practicality over pretty colours and I am quite happy with it.

I was looking for something that was small enough to fit in my purse, but had cover pockets and enough 'storage' space inside for sticky notes and tabs.

Here is what it looks like with the cover open. It came with the standard monthly view calender, address book pages, and a notes pages already punched and ready to be inserted. When I brought this home, I stared at it for a while. I had been frantically searching on Pinterest for the longest time before I bought the planner for ideas on how I could customize this so it suites me.

This is the side pocket. Room for cards, a zippered compartment and two parts for sliding in notes and keeping Post-Its.

At the back of the planner, there is a clear pouch which I am now keeping Post-It tabs in. Behind it is the pre-punched notes.

After Tackling it for a few hours.

Since the planner didn't come with a weekly view, I decided to pick up an agenda from the Dollarstore that was about the same size as my planner and stick it in there myself (rather than buying the inserts for ten dollars). I will admit that when I was hole punching the pages, I accidentally punched the wrong side and used Washi tape to hide it. I'm glad it turned out!

I also made a bunch of dividers since I actually want to use this as more than just an agenda. I used scrapbook paper and cardstock that I got from Micheals as well as Washi tape to border the dividers.

I am going to attempt to make the planner sort of Nautical themed, but usually when I try to make something themed it never turns out. I find another idea on Pinterest that i really like and it generally takes over.
